.54 CALIBER PAPER CARTRIDGE FOR THE DRAGOON MODEL
1836 AND MODEL 1842 PISTOLS: This.54 caliber
Paper Cartridge was issued with the Model 1836 and Model
1842 Single Shot Pistols carried by the US Dragoons
during the Seminole and Mexican Wars, and continued in
use into the Civil War. The paper wrapper is complete
with a minor hole as can be seen in the photograph
below. Otherwise the paper wrapper is intact and the
cartridge is full form. The thread tie at the point of
the bullet and between the bullet and the powder charge
is intact and the folded tail is present. This is a
very nice specimen of a rare, early US Martial pistol
cartridge and in much better condition than what is
normally found. (0325) $150
