SHARPS RIFLE COMPANY LAWRENCE PRIMER TUBE TIN w/
COMPLETE LABEL & 8 FULL PRIMER TUBES – AS ISSUED FOR THE
MODEL 1852 – 1863 SHARPS CARBINES: One of
the more difficult accessories to locate for displaying
with your percussion Sharps Carbines and Rifles, this
original tin canister, complete with lid and full label
is a scarce offering, particularly in this condition.
Containing eight full Lawrence Primer Tubes, each
containing fifty of the priming discs and complete with
the original wooden plugs, the tin canister is full form
with no dents, the seams are intact, the interior
surface is still bright, and on the exterior of the tin
a considerable amount of the original black lacquer
finish remains. The very legible label is full
form with only minor points of wear visible and reads,
“SHARPS PRIMERS, 1000, PATENTED JUNE 28, 1853, ADDRESS,
SHARPS RIFLE MFG. CO., HARTFORD, CT.” These
original tins are far from common and finding one with
such a complete label is a rare opportunity.
