Cartridge as issued with the Models 1816 - 1842 .69
caliber muskets and musketoons. The paper wrapper is
complete with no damage or breaks and includes the three
pieces of buckshot, the round ball and the powder
charge. The distinctive red and white thread tie at the
point of the cartridge and at the divide between the
buckshot and round ball is intact and the folded tail is
present. This is an excellent, clean specimen of this
scarce cartridge, and one that is normally missing from
all but the most advanced US Army ammunition
