.52 CALIBER SHARPS LINEN CARTRIDGES – SPECIAL
OFFERING: I have been able to purchase a small
quantity of these famous .52 Caliber Sharps Linen
Cartridges and am able to offer them here at a special
price. All of these cartridges in this offering are in
very good condition. The bullets retain their full form
and show no wear, the linen powder tubes likewise are in
full form and solid, and are clean, and intact with no
tears, wear or other damage. Due to time and storage,
the tissue paper bases on these cartridges deteriorated
and is now missing, however the cartridges retained
their original powder charges which were hardened in
place in the linen tubes as the absence of the paper
base allowed moisture to infuse into the powder charge.
In order to secure and protect the powder charge, I have
inserted a thin waxed card into the base of each
cartridge, which can be removed if you so desire.
Otherwise, these are very nice Sharps Linen Cartridges
and will present very respectably displayed with your
collection.
I was able to purchase these right and can offer them
here at a price substantially lower than that which
these fairly scarce Sharps cartridges normally sell.
This is a good opportunity to obtain one or more
examples of this workhorse cartridge of the US Cavalry,
used on the far reaches of the Dragoon era frontier
west, through the Civil War, and in the early years of
western expansion following the War. Sharps cartridges
are just not available regularly on the market today and
this offering from an old collection should not be

representative of the condition of those in this
