WORLD WAR TWO US ARMY M1942 TWO BUCKLE COMBAT BOOTS –
RUSSET ROUGH OUT LEATHER:
The classic combat boot of the US Army during World War
Two, this pair of M1942 “Two Buckle” Combat Boots are in
the original russet color. They have never been
polished or treated so the proper “rough side out”
texture of the leather is still present. The laces are
full length and in nice condition. The boots have been
worn, but the heels and soles are still full form and
have the majority of the original tread present. The
smooth leather upper cuffs are complete with the two
billet straps and two buckles, the canvas lining in the
cuffs is present and not torn or frayed, and the tongues
are complete. Overall the leather is pliable and
clean. The stitching on the inside front lower seam
that joins the upper to the lower portions of the right
boot has worn out, but this has not weakened the
structural integrity of the boot and is not readily
apparent. This area could be repaired if so desired or
left as is without detracting from the appearance of the
boot. These boots are sized 9 ˝ D. Overall a nice set
recently found in an old veteran’s estate, surviving the
last 60 plus years at the bottom of his footlocker.
