HALL CARBINE WIPER – EXTREMELY RARE HALL
APPENDAGE: Virtually never seen on the loose
and only found in the most advanced tool and Hall
Firearms collections, this Hall Carbine Wiper was
provided with the M1840 and/or M1843 Hall Carbines
manufactured by Simeon North. In like new, unissued
condition, this wiper features a bright clear surface
with no corrosion or pitting, clear strong threads, and
both tines are full length and unbroken – unusual as the
tips of the tines on many of the extant specimens of
this tool are broken. As pictured on page 26 of Gun
Tools, Their History and Identification – Volume 2, by
Dorsey and Shaffer, this wiper is unmarked as is correct
and measures the proper 3 1/32” long. Fresh from an
old, very advanced collection, you are not likely to
find another of these rare wipers offered in the
foreseeable future and it would certainly be difficult
to find a better specimen. $350
