.45/70 M1877 TRAPDOOR CARBINE BUTT PLATE w/ KEY
HOLE CUT OUT: A M1877 Trapdoor Carbine
Butt Plate with the proper Keyhole shaped cut out to
accommodate the three piece cleaning rods. Correct for
carbines in the 75,000-155,000 serial number range,
these relatively scarce butt plates are difficult to
find on the loose. This specimen is complete with the
trap cover, internal parts and spring and all parts move
smoothly. Showing traces of the original arsenal blue,
the surface of the metal is overall smooth with a few
small patches of minor pitting low on the plate towards
the toe. The “US” is present on the tang. (#3) $65
