ARMS REPAIR CHEST M17 FOR THE US M1917 ENFIELD
RIFLES: A World War One era Arms Repair Chest
M17 for the US M1917 Enfield Rifles. This heavy iron
banded wood chest, measuring 18” long, 14.5” wide and
6.5” deep, retains much of the original OD green paint
and the stenciled legend in black paint is still very
legible on both ends of the chest. The lid hinges and
both closing hasps are intact and functional, and the
original leather handle is present and still very
strong. The wooden dividers and tool receptacles and
the metal clamps are still present on the interior of
the chest. These chests are not commonly encountered
and overall this specimen is in presentable condition
and will make a nice addition to your WWI display or
make for a handy period storage space for your
collection room. $100
