MODEL 1841 RIFLE/ MODEL 1842 MUSKET COMBINATION TOOL:
As provided with the Model 1841 “Harpers Ferry” Rifle,
and the Model 1842 Musket, this tool was adopted in 1842
and produced not only by the two national armories, but
by civilian contractors as well. Incorporating a cone
wrench and two screwdriver blades, this tool was carried
by every soldier either in the patch box of his rifle or
for those armed with the musket, in his cartridge box.
This specimen is in very good condition with both screw
bits full form, only minor light pitting, and the blade
