U.S. MILITARY SHOTGUN
CLEANING ROD:
This is cleaning rod issued with the World War One
“Trench Gun”, the M1897 Winchester 12 gauge Shotgun, as
well as with all other U.S. martial trench and riot
shotguns.
These simple round wooden
rods have a 1 7/8” slot at one end with no identifying
marks or stamps. Due to their utilitarian design, very
few of these necessary military shotgun appendages seem
to have survived and they are seldom encountered today.
