DESCRIPTION OF DECAPPING AND CLEANING TOOLS FOR
SMALL ARMS CARTRIDGES MANUAL, 1907, 1917: An
excellent original edition of the manual that
accompanied the Cartridge Decapping and Cleaning Tool
Sets, originally issued in 1907, with revised editions
issued in 1909 and 1912, this particular manual was
printed by the Washington Government Printing Office in
1917. This manual consists of five pages of text and a
fold out plate showing all the components for the
Decapping and Cleaning Tool Set which were issued to the
soldiers for reloading cartridges for the M1898 (Krag)
.30 caliber Rifle, the M1903 .30 caliber Rifle, the .38
caliber Pistol, and the M1909 and M1911 .45 caliber
Pistols. Each one of these manuals, serial numbered and
considered part of the unit’s accountable inventory, was
issued with the tool sets. This specimen has been
folded and shows very minor soiling on the cover, but
there are no tears, wear or other damage. These
reloading tool manuals are fairly scarce and are
necessary to complete the tools set. $65
